Making a product move is easy. Making it move without rewriting the label, reshaping the bottle, or swapping the cap is the hard part, and it is the only part your brand team will check. So we gave every model the shot that breaks products most often: a hand picks up a serum bottle, turns the label to camera, and sets it back down. Four models kept the bottle intact on both takes. One quietly swapped the dropper for a screw cap.
If you sell from product photos and want product-page loops, ad variants, or a whole catalog in video without a shoot, the rest of this guide is your shortlist: every clip side by side, what each one cost (list prices start at $0.045 per second, and our cheapest clean 1080p clip was $0.54), what broke, and the prompt that kept the label readable. We ran all of it on Modellix, one API key for every model in the test, so the only thing that changed between clips was the model.
Best AI Product Video Generators at a Glance
| If you need... | Start with | Why | From | Our 1080p test |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| The most reliable product shot | Both takes nearly identical | $0.36/s | $2.16 · 2/2 usable | |
| The cheapest clean 1080p clip | Label and shape held on both takes | $0.067/s | $0.54 · 2/2 usable | |
| A finished ad from your photos | 3 photos in, a 15 s cut with music out | $0.20/s | $3.00 for 15 s | |
| Long single shots | Up to 30 s per shot | $0.045/s | $1.08 · 2/2 usable | |
| 4K hero shots | Polished, up to 4K and 15 s | $0.07/s | $2.24 · 2/2 usable | |
| The fastest turnaround | About 100 s a clip, but one take changed the cap | $0.14/s | $1.08 · 1/2 usable |
Pick the model per job, not per vendor. The safest model for one hero shot is not the one you want for 500 SKUs.
Run This Test on Your Own Product Photo
Upload one photo in the playground and compare models side by side, or batch a whole catalog through the API. No subscription: you pay only for the seconds you generate.
Get API KeyProduct Photo to Video: 6 Models, Same Image
The product is ORVEL Daily Glow Serum, a brand we made up so no real label gets mangled. We made a studio packshot with Nano Banana 2, then used Nano Banana 2 Edit to put the same bottle in a bathroom scene and in a hand. Three photos, $0.27 in total.
The bathroom scene was the first frame for five image-to-video models, each run twice at 6 seconds and 1080p. The prompt asks for the hardest thing in product video: a hand touching the product without changing it.
A woman's hand enters from the right, picks up the serum bottle and turns it so the label faces the camera, then sets it back down. Slow push-in, warm morning light moving across the amber glass. Keep the bottle shape, the black dropper cap, and the 'ORVEL' label text exactly as shown.
The clips
Same first frame and prompt for every single-shot model. Generated on Modellix: 6 seconds, 1080p, 16:9.
Label and shape, scored
We checked every take frame by frame: is ORVEL / Daily Glow Serum / 30 ml still readable, did the bottle and dropper keep their shape, and could the clip go on a product page as is. "Cost per usable clip" divides what we paid by the takes we would actually use.
| Model | Shape kept | Usable | Time to result | Cost / usable clip |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Yes | 2/2 | 105 to 111 s | $2.16 | |
| Yes | 2/2 | 113 to 128 s | $0.54 | |
| Yes | 2/2 | 175 to 177 s | $2.24 | |
| Yes | 2/2 | 147 to 232 s | $1.08 | |
| 1 of 2 | 1/2 | 96 to 101 s | $2.16 |
- Text is no longer the weak spot. The label stayed readable in all ten single-shot takes.
- Shape is. HappyHorse 1.1 changed the dropper into a flat screw cap on one take and enlarged the bottle on the close push-in. Same prompt, same image, different product.
- Kling V3 was the bargain. $0.54 per clip with 2/2 usable takes, a quarter of Veo 3.1's price. One take ended with the hand still on the bottle, which a trim fixes.
The one-click ad: three photos in, a 15-second spot out
Vidu One-Click AD-Film took all three photos and returned a 15-second, multi-shot ad with music for $3.00 ($0.20 per second). The label stayed readable in every shot. It also cast two different women as the "model", one in the hand shot and another at the mirror, because we only gave it a hand. Bring your own model photo if the face has to stay the same.
Which AI Product Video Generator for Which Video
| Product video | First test | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Product page loop (hand, turn, set down) | Most consistent takes in our test | |
| Many SKUs on a budget | Cheapest clean clip at 1080p | |
| 15 to 60 s ad from photos you already have | Plans the shots, adds music, takes 1 to 7 images | |
| Scripted multi-scene ad with a recurring model | Keeps referenced people, scenes, and props consistent | |
| 4K hero shot or a 15 s single take | 4K tier, multiple reference images | |
| One continuous 20 to 30 s shot | 30 s ceiling |
1. Veo 3.1 I2V API: Best for Reliable Product Shots
Best for: hero clips that must be right on the first take. Our test: 1080p · 105 to 111 s · $2.16 per clip · 2/2 usable.
The two takes were almost frame-identical, which is exactly what you want when you regenerate a clip for a new market. It returns native sound (no switch) and accepts a last-frame image, so you can pin the end pose.
Skip it if: you need clips longer than 8 seconds or hundreds of variants.
2. Kling V3 I2V API: Best Price per Clean Clip
Best for: catalogs and ad variants at volume. Our test: 1080p · 113 to 128 s · $0.54 per clip · 2/2 usable.
The cheapest clean result in the test, with sound off. Set multi_shot to false for product shots, or it may cut away from the bottle. It goes up to 15 seconds and 4K.
Skip it if: you cannot afford to trim; one take ended with the hand still on the bottle.
3. Seedance 2.0 I2V API: Best for 4K Hero Shots
Best for: polished hero shots and multi-reference scenes. Our test: 1080p · 175 to 177 s · $2.24 per clip · 2/2 usable.
Clean on both takes, with the most natural mid-turn perspective on the label. It takes several reference images and audio clips, and reaches 15 seconds and 4K. It was also the most expensive single-shot model here.
Skip it if: cost per SKU decides the project.
4. Wan 3.0 I2V API: Best for Long Single Shots
Best for: one continuous shot up to 30 seconds. Our test: 1080p · 147 to 232 s · $1.08 per clip · 2/2 usable.
Both takes held the label and shape. Its 30-second ceiling is the longest single shot here, though one of its takes was also the slowest return in the test (232 s). The text-to-video sibling, Wan 3.0 T2V, can also build a clip from a pptx, a pdf, or a public product page.
Skip it if: you need 4K.
5. HappyHorse 1.1 I2V API: Fastest, With a Catch
Best for: fast drafts and social variants. Our test: 1080p · 96 to 101 s · $1.08 per clip · 1/2 usable.
The fastest model in the test and the only one that changed the product. On the second take the push-in ended on a bottle with a screw cap instead of a dropper. Its first take was fine, apart from a thumb over the label.
Skip it if: the closure or shape is part of the brand.
6. Vidu One-Click AD-Film API: Best for a Finished Ad
Best for: a ready-to-post 10 to 60 second ad from 1 to 7 photos. Our test: 15 s · 286 s · $3.00 · label readable in every shot.
It plans the shots, cuts them, and adds music, which saves an editor. The trade-off is control: it invents people you did not supply. For scripted ads with recurring characters, Vidu Q3 AD takes script and reference images per character, scene, and prop.
Skip it if: you need shot-by-shot control.
How to Make an AI Product Video That Keeps Your Label
Start from a clean product photo
Photo checklist
- Label facing camera, sharp. Models animate what they can see. A label shot at an angle stays half unreadable.
- 2K or larger, plain background. Our 2752 x 1536 inputs kept small text like 30 ml readable after the turn.
- Same product in every scene. Generate the scene and hand shots from your packshot with an image edit model, so every clip starts from the same bottle.
- Supply the face if it matters. If a person appears, give the model a photo of them, or it will cast someone new.
Use a prompt that protects the product
Describe the action, then name what must not change. The last sentence did most of the work in our test:
[Who] [does what] with the [product], then [ends how]. [Camera move], [light]. Keep the [shape], the [cap or closure], and the '[LABEL TEXT]' label exactly as shown.
Fix the three failures we saw
- The product changes on a close push-in (HappyHorse). Shorten the push-in, or end on a medium shot, and name the closure in the last sentence.
- A hand covers the label (HappyHorse take 1). Say how to hold it: "holds the bottle by the cap".
- Someone new appears (One-Click AD-Film). Add your own model photo to the image set.
Run it on your own product, no code
Every model in this test has a playground on its Modellix model page: prompt and image on the left, the finished clip on the right. Open Kling V3 I2V, add your photo under image, paste the prompt above, set multi_shot to false and audio to off, and press Run. The price per second sits under the model name before you spend anything: at 720p a 6-second clip comes to about $0.40.
Cost and Scale: Subscriptions vs Pay Per Second
Seat-based tools meter videos per month (Adobe's Firefly Standard plan, for example, includes 40 five-second videos). Pay per second scales with the catalog instead. Here is 50 SKUs with 3 variants each, 150 clips, at our measured cost per usable clip:
| Model | Cost per usable clip | 150 clips |
|---|---|---|
| $0.54 | $80.64 | |
| $1.08 | $162.00 | |
| $2.16 | $324.00 | |
| $2.16 | $324.00 | |
| $2.24 | $336.60 |
A retry is part of the price. HappyHorse costs half as much per clip as Veo 3.1, but with one usable take in two it ends up costing the same per usable clip.
Social placements rarely need 1080p. At 720p, Kling V3 comes to about $0.40 a clip, or $60.48 for all 150.
Why Modellix is the best API for product video at scale
One API key, every model in this test
- Route each SKU to the right model. Kling V3 for the catalog, Veo 3.1 for hero products, One-Click AD-Film for launch ads, all from one script.
- No vendor accounts. Google, Kling, ByteDance, Alibaba, and Vidu through one key, with the same submit, poll, and download flow.
- Costs you can audit. Every model page lists its per-second price and every task reports what it billed. That is how this guide knows the cost of each clip.
Six ways to run these models
Playground
No code. Sign in, open a model page such as Kling V3 I2V, upload your image or paste a prompt, and the clip, time, and cost show up in your browser. Best for picking a shortlist.
Coding agent, no install
Paste one sentence into Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor and let it read the docs:
My Modellix API key is mdlx-••••••••••••••••••••••••. Read https://docs.modellix.ai/get-started/index.md and https://docs.modellix.ai/kling/kling-v3-i2v.md, then for each product photo in ./products, make one 6-second 1080p clip with kling/kling-v3-i2v using the prompt in prompt.txt. Run at most 4 tasks at a time, save the MP4s to ./videos with the same file names, and report the cost of each.
Swap in your own key from the console, and only share it with agents you trust.
Agent Skill
Install the skill once and your agent reads each model's schema and fills in the request fields itself. Name the model in your prompt; if you don't, it asks which one to run. Works in any Agent Skills host. Setup is in the Skill guide.
npx skills add https://github.com/Modellix/modellix-plugin --skill modellix-design
Plugin
If your host has a plugin marketplace (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor), the plugin adds six skills (generation, image prompts, social cards, infographics, and local edits with FFmpeg or MoviePy) plus the Media Generation MCP, so commands like /modellix:video and /modellix:social-card work out of the box. In Claude Code, run /plugin marketplace add Modellix/modellix-plugin, then /plugin install modellix@modellix. Other hosts are in the Plugin guide.
CLI
For scripts and cron jobs. One command submits the task, waits, and prints the result URL; modellix-cli model batch takes a JSONL file for a whole list. See the CLI guide.
npm install --global modellix-cli
modellix-cli model run --model-slug kling/kling-v3-i2v --body-file request.json --wait
REST API
Submit, keep the task_id, poll, then download before the result URL expires. Field names vary by provider, so check each model's schema in the API guide.
Start from a prompt that already works
Prompts from earlier Modellix tests that already work for product and brand clips. Generated on Modellix.
Food and product detail
“Honey pours slowly over a stack of pancakes topped with berries, steam rising, macro shot, bright breakfast light.”
Multi-shot story in one call
“Shot 1: close-up of a chef's hands plating a dessert. Shot 2: wide shot of the busy restaurant kitchen. Shot 3: the chef looks up and smiles at the camera. Warm cinematic lighting.”
UGC-style dialogue with sound
“Two friends share noodles at a rainy night street-food stall. The man laughs and says, "You still owe me dinner." Steam rises, neon reflects on the wet pavement, handheld camera, natural ambient sound.”
Brand mood shot
“Slow dolly-in on a woman sitting alone at a dim jazz bar counter, warm tungsten light. As a spotlight sweeps across her face, her expression shifts from calm to quiet surprise. Shallow depth of field, 35mm film look.”
FAQ About AI Product Video Generators
What is the best AI product video generator?
For one reliable hero clip, Veo 3.1 I2V; for catalogs on a budget, Kling V3 I2V; for a finished ad from photos, Vidu One-Click AD-Film. If you want to try all of them without signing up five times, Modellix is the fastest and most cost-effective way in: one account, one key, pay per second.
Can AI turn a product photo into a video?
Yes. Image-to-video models animate your photo as the first frame. In our test, every model kept the label readable, and four of five kept the product's shape on both takes.
How much does an AI product video cost?
On Modellix, list prices start at $0.045 per second (Wan 3.0 at 480p), and a 6-second 720p Kling V3 clip is about $0.40. Our 6-second 1080p clips cost $0.54 to $2.24, and a 15-second one-click ad cost $3.00. Count retries: the cost per usable clip is what matters.
Is there a free AI product video generator without a watermark?
Free tiers on app-style tools usually add watermarks or limit resolution. On Modellix there is no subscription; you pay for the seconds you generate, and our clips came back without watermarks.
Can I make product videos from a product page URL?
Wan 3.0 T2V accepts a public web page or a pptx / pdf brief as input. For the most control over how the product looks, start from your own photo instead.
Can I use AI product videos in ads?
Check the model provider's output terms and your ad platform's rules for AI-generated content before you spend. Keep the original photos and prompts so you can show how each clip was made.
Can I generate videos for a whole catalog?
Yes. Put one request per product in a JSONL file and run modellix-cli model batch, or have a coding agent loop through a folder of photos with the prompt above.
